Growing Season

February saw abundant rains, followed by lots of filtered light in spring and early summer. Both bud break and flowering occurred a bit late, but under ideal weather conditions, creating a plentiful and even fruit set. Summer brought generous sun during the day and cooler marine influences at night. The relatively mild summer was virtually uninterrupted by heat spikes and was followed by extended fall sunshine and moderate heat. The growing conditions were ideal and we allowed our fruit to accumulate flavor complexity with gradual increases in sugar levels.

Aged 19 months in 60% new, 40% once-used French Oak from Taransaud, Bossuet and Sylvain

Tasting Notes

"Boysenberry, blackberry, pine needles, plum, cherry, black truffle, roast pork, black licorice, porcini, black currant. Very soft attack, coffee and black currants. Finishes with plum, cherry, espresso, tannins are more youthful here but the wine persists beyond them with a delightful cherry, plum and black licorice."--Aaron Pott, Winemaker, 7/16/2020
